The need for training begins at an early age. There is no benefit in delaying the inevitable. The myth of waiting until six months to a year to begin training impedes the process for many people today. At eight weeks we can effectively teach anything your pet will ever need to know including the most important task of come on command using their instinctive social behaviors. Once your puppy has learned to ignore and outrun you, you are at a disadvantage.

If that has already happened to you, don't worry, we can still help you gain recall with even the most stubborn and experienced runners. Our program starts with an in-depth evaluation of your goals and expectations for your pet. This evaluation and first lesson can last for up to 90 minutes. In the first 3 private lessons, you and your pet will learn and accomplish sit, stay, down, and heel, on lead.

We can effectively help you or other handlers accomplish all these things because they are done in your home, in your yard, where training is most needed. We can control the surroundings to create an optimal environment with fewer distractions, ensuring the most successful result.

After accomplishing basic commands, you and your pet will be ready for staying focused despite the outside distractions of a group setting. Obedience training pays its biggest dividends during times of distraction.

During the next 5 to 10 weeks, you will bereinforcing skills learned in the private lesson in a group setting. You will also learn motivational techniques like retrieving, catching flying discs, how to approach and greet strangers, and tolerate a groomer's or veterinarian's examination.

Next you will continue onto advanced techniques like agility, tricks, and off-leash training with the use of voice commands.

There's comfort in knowing that you can control your dog in any situation, and knowing that your pet will be welcome in any situation where leashes are not required.

Boarding and Training

For busy owners who want things fast, our boarding and training packages will accelereate your training program. After our doggie boot camp, you will then learn the necesssarry techniques for handling in four additional in-home private lessons.

For those of you looking to enter the show world with your pet, we offer continued training clinics on Schutzhund, Herding, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Agility, Obedience, and more.

Breeding
Our breeding programs have turned out many show and pet quality dogs. Over the past 20 years we have focused on the working breeds and continuing to improve upon the breed standard as well as the lifestyle of those seeking our pets. Border Collies labs and Shepherds ar ethe main producers in our kennel. For non-working breeds we will be offering a few select Bijon litters.
